Dixie (Vistercil), Trevor, Trustin, and Aleynah Bazil

Well, I finally got around to posting a blog. It was so good to be able to look through the blogs and see everyone's families and how everyone has changed. Well, a little about me, I graduated from Ricks, (as it will always be known to me) in 1999. I then moved to Pocatello where I met my husband Trevor. He was going to school at ISU. He is from Rigby. He graduated with his bachelors in art and secondary ed. We then moved to Boise where he did a year of grad school at BSU and I worked at a daycare to help him get through school. Then one very amazing day he got a letter in the mail saying that he got accepted to BYU-Provo. So we packed up and moved to Provo. He got his master of fine arts from there. While he was in school we had our son Trustin. He is now 2 1/2. He is currently going through the terrible twos. Ha, Ha. Then this last year we had our daughter Aleynah. She is all girl and just a very good girl. We are currently living in Caliente, Nevada where Trevor is an art teacher at C.O. Bastian High School which is inside of a juvenile detention center. I am currently just a stay at home mom and loving every minute of it. Well, that's a short story of my life. Hope all is well with all of you and your families. Till we meet again!

We've just left Boston for Syracuse, NY, and are enjoying it. I guess a brief history would be in order:

1998-2000 Mission, South Africa Cape Town
2002 Graduated Ricks College, Electrical Engineering
2002 Met Natalie at BYU (a couple of weeks after she met me :-)
2003 Married Natalie in the D.C. Temple
2004 Graduated BYU, Electrical Engineering
2004 Went to Boston to work in embedded software for a defense contractor, Sudbury MA
2004 Bought an atrocious fix-r-upper, Marlborough MA
2006 Calvin Joshua Mortensen born, Framingham MA
2007 Finished fixing up the now-lovely home, just in time to move, Marlborough MA
2007 Went to Syracuse to work in software at a not-for-profit defense corp, Syracuse NY
2007 Nov-Dev Our second son will be born. Anybody have any good names?

I guess we figured we'd start on the East Coast, and slowly make our way back to the Rockies. :-) If anyone comes out this way, don't hesitate to say hello.

It was good to see everyone

It was good to see everyone. I was sad that I could only stay for a few hours and not chat more with everyone. Thanks for all the work Jessica and Seth put into the planning the reunion. Heather was impressed with our whole class and how close we were. I have to admit that it is pretty unique. I was at dinner with a couple in our ward and they wouldn't even desire to go back to their high school reunion. I was excited myself to see so much of us there.

Just as a little maitinance, Scott is currently working on a site that we can post our contact information that cannot be accessed by spammers. I don't know the details, but remember to check back often to update your information.

It was good to see everyone, I was sad when I had to get back to work. I hope to hear from everyone soon.

Pictures?

A big thanks to Seth & Jessica and the others (Burger Man Romney, the Kings, etc.) who made the reunion such a success! Lindz & I had a great time, and it was so good to see all of you and catch up! Somehow experiencing Seth standing on a bench yelling at people brought back fond memories of Buddy Calderwood in seminary years ago. Anyway. . .unfortunately we got all the way back to Florida and realized we don't have a single picture of the whole thing--anyone want to share???

Wow! So 10 years have come and gone, where did the time go? I figured since I wasn't able to attend the reunion this last weekend, I would update you on here. Not a lot has happened in the last 10 years...but I'll catch you up on what has changed! I moved to Boise shortly after graduating to attend BSU. I was working at Albertsons at the time so I was juggling both. I decided that I had enough of school and went to work full time for Albertsons. I just hit my ten year mark with the company on July 10th. I worked my way up through the ranks, starting as a bagger, moving to a checker, than assistant manager, and finally Front End Manager. I worked at numerous stores in the Boise valley, finally landing at the store in Meridian. I was in that store for 5 years before stepping down in December of 2005. Too much change and I couldn't handle all of it. I went back to work at one of my old stores as a checker. I was then promoted to a position at the former corporate office, now the Supervalu/Albertsons Boise Store Support Center, running the IT Quality Control testing teams. I have been there now for over a year. I love having a "normal"office job! So that is what has happened to me career wise. Not as fancy as some of you...but it works for me!

Now for the good stuff, my personal life! As many of you may or may not know, shortly after moving to Boise, I made the hardest decision of my life. I quit lying to myself and everyone else and came out of the closet! That's right, I'm Gay!! Now, pick yourselves up off the floor and continue reading. Ha ha ha Most of you probably knew that before I did. Anyway...I was in a committed realtionship for six years, which ended over Memorial Day weekend. Life started over for me that day. Over the last ten years, I have made some incredible friends and lost some as well. Robert was one of them. We shared six years together, but like high school, it too had to end. Life went on after high school, and will go on for me again.

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know that I was really looking forward to seeing every single on of you. I was very sad whenI realized at the last minute that I couldn't make it. I will be there for 20!! I have attached a picture of me taken in July 2007. I will keep in touch, and is wonderful to see you all grown up on here. Shoot me a line if you want to keep in touch. Here are some Photos from Christmas just this last year. We've had a long last year. This is my wife Nadia and our Son Taylor and our Daughter Elizabeth. He's 3 and she is 2. It's a good thing they're cute, they know how to get into everything! Really good kids though. We're still in Rexburg for now. I"ve been working on my website and freelance Illustrating. Graduation is over at BYUI and I majored in Illustration.

Nate and Angie Phillips

This page is a great idea! I've enjoyed seeing all of your pictures and catching up on what you've all been doing. I really haven't seen that many of you since high school. I went to the University of Utah and got a B.S. in Computer Engineering, graduating in 2004. While I was there I met my wonderful wife Angie and we were married in December 2003. After receiving my degree, I accepted a commission in the Marine Corps and we moved to Quantico, Virginia for a year. In 2005, we moved to Okinawa, Japan, where we are currently living--so I won't be attending the reunion. My daughter Alizabeth (Isn't she cute!) turned one on June 28 of this year and we have a second baby on the way, due in February. We are having a blast living in Okinawa and enjoy learning about the culture and food of Japan (I love Sushi!). We plan on returning to the States next summer, but I don't know exactly where we'll end up yet. This is our most recent family picture, taken after hiking for 45 minutes to a waterfall here in Okinawa. Keep in touch and I hope to see you all at the next reunion. Take care.

Sherri (Price) Russell

Okay, I guess I'll post, too, just in case anyone really cares. And please, get over the shock that I'm somehow still alive. Nope, haven't died in a car wreck yet. Luckily I live in Utah where we're all bad and crazy drivers so I seem to fit right in and have been wreck free for about 8 years. I moved away to Salt Lake City back in 99, met the sexiest man alive and married him in 2001. We had our little guy in 2005 and named him Evan. He's got that whole terrible two thing down pretty well and I swear, all I do is chase that kid as you can see in pics of us at an Easter egg hunt. It's rare that I actually can hold him in my lap, like in the pic of us at Christmas time at the in-laws. Anyway, we built a house in the Cottonwood Heights area of SLC a couple years ago and finally finished our landscaping in the backyard this year.

We tried to have another kid, but it ended up being a molar pregnancy and I had to have a DNC a few weeks ago. Don't know what a molar pregnancy is? Neither did I. Google it. Just know that it sux and hope it doesn't happen to you.

My husband Jake works for Bonneville Radio/ KSL as one of their radio engineers and he's the one who pays all the bills. I'm just a full-time mom but have two little side jobs that give us some playing money, and they're both that I can do with my kid. I work from home where all I have to do is watch the news on weeknights, type up a summary of the stories, and upload it to my employer. Then recently I decided to get a second job at a fitness center's child care and only work a few days a week from 9-noon. It's great cuz I can take my kid with me and I get a free membership.

That's it in a nutshell. I won't be seeing you at the reunion this year, but if we by chance meet before the next one, feel free to say hi.

This is pretty cool to see all that every one has put on this site and see how much everyone has changed in 10 years.This is the only family photo that I have right now on the day I Baptized Kelten I will get a new one soon there all there if you look close. It was great to see all of you who came to the reunion it was alot of fun glad I went. Still don't know how I managed to get the most mature award I must have been really immature in school. What am I talking about I still am why grow up life is to short. I don't know what my hurry was to get out of high school and get a real job. Life was fun and not as much worry.. I met my wife Mandy my senior year working at the golden arm pit's (McDonald's) we were married on July 9 1998 and have had 4 kids since Kelten (8) Kasen (5) Kreed (2) and Kassidy 1 month the lord must know me way to well because if the second had been a girl it would have all been over. I love having kids they make life fun and interesting not a dull moment at our house. We live in Teton and we love living here it is great. I work at Madison County Implement (John Deere) in the Parts Department I love my job most days. Hope I never offended any of you in school or treated anyone in a bad way if so I am sorry. Well hope life treats you all well c-ya
